Tanya Lewis team page

TANYA LEWIS – Founder, tanya@ops360.org – Tanya is the Founder and CEO of Ops360, a non-profit that supports student achievement by training operations and finance leaders to create and scale strong operations.  Ops360 operates cohort based programs for charter school leadership and management teams in Louisiana and Tennessee and partners with charter school founders across the country to design, develop and execute operational strategy to launch new schools.  Tanya is the former COO/CFO of a New Orleans based charter network.  During the launch of their first school in 2009, she developed an intimate understanding of generational poverty and the critical role education plays in breaking this cycle. Before her transition to the charter world, Tanya worked in higher education in enrollment management, facility services, operations, and finance. She has a B.S. in Physics from Grambling State University and an MBA in Finance from the University of New Orleans.

DeRonda Williams

DERONDA WILLIAMS – Co-Founder, deronda@ops360.org – DeRonda consults with education reform organizations to build and strengthen the movement through quality schooling. In 2013, DeRonda was appointed by the Governor to the Illinois State Charter School Commission, which resolves charter school appeals, shares best practices in authorizing and is an authorizer of four charter schools. DeRonda was Network Finance Director for the KIPP Foundation for 5 years. Prior to KIPP, DeRonda worked for Pearson Education as a business unit CFO of the K-12 and college divisions. She has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

MATTHEW COLBURN – Lead Coach 2016-2017, matt@ops360.org – Matthew consults and coaches senior executives in the education finance sector.  Previously, Matt was KIPP Delta Public Schools’ Chief Operating Officer overseeing the strategic management of the organization’s support systems during a period of explosive growth.  He has extensive experience providing senior leadership for finance, HR, procurement, campus operations, real estate, transportation, nutrition & health services and technology support. Most recently, he spearheaded the planning and development of over $20,000,000 in new facility investments, which will fuel KIPP Delta’s growth through 2020.  Before joining KIPP, Matt served as Vice President and COO of Prosperity and Democracy LLC, an investment firm dedicated to improving Central American business culture by promoting internationally recognized commercial standards. He recruited and developed management teams focusing on independent media start-ups, renewable energy, and anti-corruption initiatives. Previously, he served as a Board Member and Regional Director of the Riecken Foundation building a network of high performing locally governed community libraries across Honduras and Guatemala.  His passion for social justice and equitable access to education began during his service with the Peace Corps. Matt has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.


SABRINA BUERGER – Director of Operations, sabrina@ops360.org – Sabrina manages the organization’s finances and operations, she supports cohort members with training and consults on finance and operations projects and strategic planning. Prior to joining Ops360, Sabrina was the Network Business Manager for the ARISE Schools in New Orleans and was responsible for the organization’s accounting, compliance, annual budgets and human resources management.  Before working in education, Sabrina spent nearly 20 years working at various tech, private and non-profit organizations in in the San Francisco Bay Area establishing organizational infrastructure. She specializes in creating policies, processes and procedures, as well as providing accounting services and managing human resources, procurement, and national events. Sabrina studied Business Administration at San Francisco State University, completed her Purchasing Management Certification at San José State University and is currently pursuing her certification in Human Resources Management at Tulane University.


BESSIE GOGGINS – Strategy & Content Contributor, bessie@ops360.org – Bessie supports the organization’s communications and strategy initiatives. Prior to her supporting role at Ops360, Bessie worked as the Director of Development & Communications for ARISE Schools, working closely with the CEO, board, and teachers. She also was the Director of Teaching & Learning at ARISE Schools, where she designed and launched a teacher residency program, oversaw science and social studies curricula, and developed teacher leaders and assistant principals in coaching, leadership, and professional development. Bessie is an alum of Teach For America and taught elementary school prior to her administrative roles at ARISE Schools, and before that, she was the executive director for a literacy council in North Carolina. Bessie graduated summa cum laude from Western Carolina University with a B.A. (English) and a B.S. (Communication), and at a later date, her master’s degree in rhetoric and technical writing.


BARBARA SCARBROUGH – Special Project Coordinator, barbara@ops360.org – Barbara is the organization’s special project coordinator and joined the organization after retiring from LSU Health Sciences Center as a Business Manager. In her prior role, she worked closely with hospital CEOs, doctors and other health care administrators preparing contracts, grants and business plans for internal budgets. She was also in charge of payroll and managed the department’s inventory for numerous locations throughout the state. Prior to her job at LSUHSC, she was the Director of Finance and Administration at the University of New Orleans where she managed operation and finances for the department of facility services, providing leadership for HR, procurement and campus operations. Barbara has a B.S. in Management and an M.B.A from the University of New Orleans.
